The scientific library of the West Kazakhstan University named after M. Utemisov is one of the oldest university libraries in Kazakhstan - the pride of the university: it has more than a million unique collections, subscribes to more than 200 periodicals.
The library makes a significant contribution to the educational process of the university, provides users with open access to library resources in all types of mass media.
The scientific library of the West Kazakhstan University owns collections of rare books and manuscripts. The collection of rare books includes the "Encyclopedia published in pre-revolutionary Russia", the History of the Russian State, universal biographical collections, the "Pushkiniana", "ZhZL" series and monuments of ancient Slavic literature in original collections.
The Scientific Library of WKU, together with the Republican Scientific and Pedagogical Library of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (RSPK of the MES of the RK), for the first time on October 10-11, 2019, held an international scientific and practical conference of heads and leading specialists of libraries of higher education institutions on the topic "Partnership of university libraries: new forms of cooperation" at the West Kazakhstan University named after M. Utemisov.
The Scientific Library is an information and educational center.

- works in collaboration with the Republican Inter-University Electronic Library (RIEL), the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, the Scientific Electronic Library eLLRRARY.RU (RINC), the Unified Electronic Libraries of JSC "MUGTO";
- methodological center for libraries of professional, technical and educational institutions of the city and the West Kazakhstan Region.
